Database event in Edinburgh: IDUG 2022 EMEA Db2 Tech Conference

IDUG 2022 Db2 Tech Conference
Two months are left before the IDUG 2022 EMEA Db2 Tech Conference is to begin. After two years of virtual-only events, this conference marks a new start for the (mostly) European part of the Db2 community, the International Db2 User Group (IDUG). Last month, the IDUG 2022 NA conference in Boston, USA, showed the value of face-to-face events. Networking, formal and informal exchange of information, education, certification, and some fun. So what to expect from the conference in October?

Conference overview

Here are some quick answers to questions you may have (or test your knowledge!).

  • Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Dates: October, 22-26 with some additional events before and after the conference
  • Venue: Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC)
  • Format: The conference will be hybrid, preferring on-site attendees and supporting virtual participants. You will have access to all sessions on-site. A subset will be streamed and is available for online participants.
  • What: Products include Db2, Db2 for z/OS, Db2 on Cloud, Db2 Warehouse on Cloud with administration, performance, security, application development, new features, tooling, "basics" and "advanced" topics. Check out the agenda.
  • Workshops: There are Db2 workshops offered on the day before and directly after the conference closing.
  • Hotels: The conference organizers have negotiated special rates for three hotels. But there are other hotels near by in walking distance, too.
  • Airport tram: There is a tram line between the Edinburgh airport and downtown, leaving every 15 minutes during the day. An adult open return ticket is £9.
  • Weather: Not sure, but I expect a superb climate...

With the above information, you might ask now, how to register or about the fees. I won't tell you... ;-)
